Making Waves on CBS News: Restoring Fish Passage in Alameda Creek

The Rubber Dam No. 1 Fishway Project recently captured public attention through a CBS Bay Area feature highlighting the region’s investment in ecosystem restoration along with Alpha CM’s pivotal role in successful construction management.

CBS Bay Area showcased the Alameda County Water District’s innovative approach to restoring fish passage through Alameda Creek. The segment underscored how engineering ingenuity and environmental awareness can coexist to strengthen California’s water future.

As the project’s construction management lead, Alpha CM coordinated safety, quality, and communication across multiple agencies and contractors. Despite working under BART and UPRR rail lines and within a live waterway, the project achieved an extraordinary milestone: zero injuries, zero environmental incidents, and zero public safety incidents.

This outcome reflects Alpha CM’s core philosophy — that proactive planning, daily safety briefings, and unified project culture protect not only the workforce but also the communities we serve.

From headline-making restoration efforts to behind-the-scenes coordination, Alpha CM remains committed to projects that make California’s infrastructure stronger, safer, and more sustainable.
