Public transparency and education were central to the Alameda Creek Fishway Project. Alpha CM supported ACWD’s outreach initiatives that invited residents to see environmental infrastructure up close.
Infrastructure projects thrive when communities understand their purpose and benefits. Throughout the construction of the Rubber Dam No. 1 Fishway, ACWD and Alpha CM worked hand-in-hand to engage the public.
Town-hall meetings, trail-side “tent events,” and door-to-door outreach helped keep nearby residents informed. The construction management team participated in on-site discussions, answered questions, and shared project milestones directly with community members.
Upon completion, a ribbon-cutting ceremony and guided tours showcased the fish ladder, inflatable dam, and new fish screens — demonstrating how modern engineering can coexist with ecological care.
“Transparency and engagement paved the way for a successful project — for both the environment and the community.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony and full details on ACWD’s Fish Passage Improvements Program can be found on their official project page.
Alpha CM believes that great projects build more than structures — they build community trust, education, and pride.
